Confederate States

The Confederate States of America, or CSA rebellion government that seceded from the USA to preserve and expand slavery. Before the election of Abraham Lincoln a collection of southern US states became fearful of the growing abolition movement and upon the election of Lincoln to the presidency, chose to break away from the US to form their own government, dedicated to preserving and expanding the institution of slavery. After 4 long years of bloody battle however, they were soundly defeated and soon reintegrated into the US. Even with that defeat however, the veterans of the Confederacy successfully painted the CSA in a brighter light, creating the “Lost Cause” myth. Today the Confederate States are seen in a much harsher light and the major controversy of the statues that the veterans put up is still being fought in the streets of the deep south today.

Confederate statue

A Confederate statue is no more a threat to public safety than a statue of a Civil Rights leader. The statue was never the threat, it's the ppl eople that gather around the statue, no matter their shade of skin, that are a threat to each other. The statues are fine the way they are, they were after all, built by humans.
It's not everybody's problem when someone is offended by a Confederate statue, just like it's not everybody's problem when someone is offended by a statue of a Civil Rights leader. Both kinds of statues should be left alone, if anything people are more of a threat to the statues than the statues are to people.

a goulag confed

a judge/prosecutor who would more likely send a violent criminal to a goulag work camp rather than to either life in prison or death row
a goulag confed is what we financially require right now; violent criminals should also work and pay taxes rather than just do life in prison or be put on the chair

Confederal

A soldier who is a member of a Group of Living Historians who portray the American Civil War. They came from both the sides of the conflict, some confederates and some union men. But they formed the most hard fighting, hard drinking, tough as nails unit known in the hobby. They are more of a secret society that has a public face, but all whom know of them do not play around with them, fore they take no sides, there side is the side of the confederal. A conglomerate of both Union and Confederate Ideals. True rebels, true revolutionaries.
The confederals are on the advance and ready to attack both the union and confederates.

Confederate New Year

A holiday celebrated by some rural communities (not limited to the South) similar to normal New Year's, but instead of being celebrated annually on a specific date, it's celebrated randomly every few years.

Communities observing this holiday choose it instead of New Year's as the day that marks the change in the calendar year.

This explains why some towns act like it's 1874. Because, well, it's 1874.
Charleston High School in Mississippi held its first integrated prom in 1924 local time, 2008 Eastern.

Most of metro Atlanta's Confederate New Year dates have caught up to New Year dates.
