Human Civilization

What we humans arrogantly presume to call a large population of humans.
*see oxymoron

Every time I turn on the TV I see examples of why human beings are not civilized; and as the word "Civilization" contains the root word "civil", there is no such thing as a "Human Civilization"
Shall I list off ALL the examples?

Civil Air Patrol

Civil Air Patrol is the best program in the United States today for young men and woman. Whoever said it was a political disaster does not know what the hell they are talking about. They are only getting one side of the whole show. This program is great. We do Search and Rescue, Aerospace Education, and promote manners and a good path to life. If you get far enough in the program you can earn advance rank in the US military.

Civil Air Patrol search and rescue teams found me and i am alive because of those outstanding individuals.

Civil War

1) a war in which parties within the same culture, society or nationality fight against each other for the control of political power.

2) a song by guns n roses.

3) a slang term used to describe a food fight within one table at lunch or any other public place in which food is eaten.

EXAMPLES 3) Bill: Hey, don't be starting a civil war here!
Joe: We haven't had one in a long time.

1) Chris: Who won the Civil War?
John: I don't know, dude. Ask someone else.

When someone, usually a male, is extremely polite and overly trying to be chivalrous when it isn't wanted or consented. This could be forcibly carrying your books, opening doors and pulling out your chair in order to position himself as a possible suitor.

"that guy totally chivalraped me, I didn't think it was a date but he kept opening doors for me and pulling out my chair!"

Civilization

A society or condition of society that has risen above the state of savagery and barbaric practices, and shows a sense of justice and fairness, giving equality, rights and freedoms to all.

For example, native colonies who are kind and loving to each other, respect nature by giving back what they take, living in harmony with nature and the seasons, should be considered civilized. Whereas people who attack other countries and destroy their culture, exploit the Earth and destroy it, ignore their poor, kill their own unborn babies and even make it legal, spread pollution everywhere, showing greed instead of kindness and compassion, should be considered an uncivilized people. The classic example of an uncivilized nation, with all of the above savagery and barbaric behavior patterns, is America.

Mahatma Gandhi was once asked what he thought of "Western civilization". He said "I think it would be a good idea," emphasizing that the West has not become civilized yet.
