chart biopsy

Medical slang. A patient with a complex past medical history, usually in the era of paper charts instead of electronic records. The term describes the process of studying the old record to understand the current status of the patient.

Mt. Smith has 3 volumes of old medical records. I am going to have to do a chart biopsy to figure out what is going on with him.

(New England Region) The state of being or being involved in activity that is sterotypical in the life of a blue collared worker, (i.e. electrician, carpenter, truck driver, logger, etc.) Either a person can be bootsy or an act they perform can be bootsy.

"Dude, after class I just felt like being lazy and taking a nap, how bootsy is that?"

"I grilled up some bison burgers"
