Originated in Halo 3, where a player was found to be so bad that only the title waffos noob would suit him. This type of noob primarily lives by the waffos wall and plays with shotgun, mauler or dual maulers.

Why is he camping at that wall with a shotgun?

noob

everyone starts out as a noob on a game. the more they play the better they get. how good you are is about proportional to how much time you have spent on the computer playing the game.
many players do not recognize this relationship, and have a lot of respect for the top players - who in return can enjoy calling the poorer players noobs, (the people who have more of a life and simply play less)
once you start calling others noobs, you know you've spent too much time playing the game.

Noob

A compliment, used almost compltely in the gaming community. When someone calls somebody else a noob, they are telling them that they have a life because noob means someone who is not very good at the game that they are playing.

This is often mistaken as an insult by people who don't play any sports.
