A reference to the 1986 classic film, Top Gun. Used to refer to a situation where a straight male has homosexual feelings for another straight male. This gay crush or particular tension does not mean an individual is gay or that these feelings will ever be acted upon, only that the feelings involved in the friendship are of a particularly intimate nature and might be interpreted as homoerotic.

Top Gun

To have sex with a woman, usually while intoxicated. Used as a noun, naming a location where only a select few guys go after a party. To achieve top gun status, vaginal penetration must be made. All other sexual acts count merely as "flight school" which in time may lead to top gun status.
