Although this area used to be a normal suburban area, over the past 15 years the area has changed. It is now known for its gang violence, and million dollar drug cartels. Northside residence are known to wear Atlanta Braves hats with a "G" replacing the "A" The term "Stupid Northside" became popular in the song "Stupid Nawf" by Gwinnett County rap artist P Floata released in 2008.
