Get the pretend this is a good word mug.When someone has no idea of how a subculture works and has no willingness to lurk but still pretends to know everything about said subculture. Commonly seen on various forums, large and small.
People with Pretender Syndrome have no will to assimilate to the forum culture and will instead attempt to force their own ideals onto the community. They will take basic surface level knowledge (ie memes) and spout them with very little knowledge of the memes themselves. Often completely misuse the memes as a result.

Get the Prey pretending mug.Mineman Pretend is a term for Minecraft Roleplay servers. Basically D&D but usually more focused on roleplay and less on mechanics, with your avatar's skin representing your character's appearance, your character's placement in the world representing where your character is in the world, and plugins to make your chat messages only appear to players in a certain radius.
I sure wish my old Mineman Pretend server hadn't shut down. I had a lot left to do with my character. Oh well, I'll try applying to this new server, Saphriel.
