Layoff Beard

The term Layoff Beard refers to any facial hair that is grown in celebration of unemployment. Qualifying events include getting: canned, fired, axed, pink-slipped, downsized, marginalized, shown the door, let go, dismissed, let go, or laid off.

Layoff Beards were popularized in fall 2008 by the website TheCanned.com, which runs an unemployment-themed blog titled "The Layoff Beard."

There are a lot of bankers out there who have grown ferocious layoff beards following the financial crisis of 2008.

Teddy Bear Vision

1. To have a narrow minded view on global occurences, or the current state of the world; Lacking philosophical insight; Unable to gain new understandings from bad experience.

2. A mind that replaces the truth with pleasing images in order to go throughout life without a worry even when a worry is justified.

Ex: "Some say ignorance is bliss, but Bill I don't know she really has some severe Teddy Bear Vision."

Someone who is very crabby and angry and who makes being around them no fun. This was used on Wonkette often. YES. It's "anger bear" not "angry bear."
