“Diencephalon” is a 2023 album from the Rapper SLITXOX.
The album from start to finish is meant to be an expression of SLITXOX’s personality and how he has changed over the course of his career.
Lyrics within the songs are heavy on references to violence and drug use, but the writing and wordplay are written straight from the writers dwelling mind, bringing us an almost poetic thought process to gather while listening to the bumping 808s and hypnotizing samples.
To speak of the samples, or rather the beats in this album entirely we get to hear work from lesser known but immensely talented producers brought to light from the artistic pickiness that SLITXOX always has with his songs.
At the end of it all, Diencephalon by SLITXOX is a truly entrancing but bombastic musical experience which is good for any chill time.
The diencephalon is the central portion of the brain located around the third ventricle, superior to the brainstem (medulla, pons and midbrain), and inferior to the corpus callosum and cerebral cortex. It is divided into four main parts including the epithalamus, thalamus, subthalamus, and hypothalamus.
