But just as “Nigger” was meant to offend it is now used by blacks (Nigga) as a term used in comradeship, which has now occurred for Peckerwood. California White Supremacist Prison and Street gangs now coined the term Peckerwood or simply ‘wood’ to refer to each other. It can be used offensively or affectionately as a sign of respect, depending who you are or whom you’re saying it to.
