cutting cycle

More commonly known as "dieting". This "cycle" usually follows a "bulking" cycle (where one weightlifts to gain mass/muscle at a rapid rate). The "cutting cycle" sheds the body of excess fat so muscle definition can be achieved.
"I've gained about 10lbs of muscle during my last cycle, but I still have about 20lbs of fat on me, so in a week I'll start my cutting cycle so I can lose the fat and see the muscle more easily."

cutting room floor

1) Where certain parts of a film wind up during editing for one reason or another - could be bloopers, or could be stuff that didn't add to the film in the director's opinion.

2) The usual description used on a DVD for the section where such bits wind up - assuming, of course, they put it on the disk.

Cutting Ham

Used to describe when you or someone else is doing something other than actual work. Also used to cover up tardiness or any other task that usually assigned to the person in question.
Subordinate: Hey boss, I'm going to be in around noon. I'll be out cutting ham.

Boss: Ok, but keep the ham cutting to 4 hours. The big boss is starting to look at time sheets.
