This became a phrase seen, earlier on the internet.. it’s because boys aren’t “supposed” to cry so when they hold in their tears for so long, it starts to bottle up. Hence, the once trendy boy’s tears bottle phonecases and such

three tears

The term comes from the days of when pirate's (not Somalian) ran the seas. They would send people out on the plank and two ship boys would go with the captive and walk him to his death. One captive said if he was going down he would take the ship boys with him and as he was pushed from the plank swept his feet under the boys and made them fall with him, thus creating the story of the three tears.

Steve-"You hear about Kyle,Jim, and Mike?"
Brian- "No,what happened?"
Steve-"Kyle got caught smoking and created three tears by snitching on Jim and Mike for smoking too."
Brian-"What a bitch."

Crying because someone is talking about something that hits so close to home that you start crying because you can relate to what they're saying so much that it hurts and now those tears you're crying will free you from the topic they're talking about and how it relates to you.
