Ring culture

A belief that success in sports can only be measured by championships (members of championship teams are typically awarded rings, which is where the term comes from).

In a season where a team does not win a championship, those who believe in ring culture identify said season as a failure, regardless of how close to a championship said team was.
Fan 1: "I can't believe my team just lost the Super Bowl. I'm not wearing any of my Super Bowl gear ever again. This year was horrible!"
Fan 2: "Ring culture is ruining the experience as fans. Just be happy that your team made it to the biggest stage."

Culture Coasting

The phenomenon in which a culture—whether national, ethnic, or subcultural—achieves visibility, popularity, or influence in media, fashion, language, or other domains of society, often without active participation, endorsement, or control by members of that culture themselves, thus reaping proportionate benefits or recognition. Culture coasting typically occurs when elements of a culture are adopted, commodified, or spread by outsiders, creating the illusion of cultural momentum.
Thanks to culture coasting, artists from outside Jamaica (e.g., Drake, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, or international DJs) often incorporate Jamaican sounds, slang, and rhythms into their work, thus increasing Jamaica's soft power in music.

The Culture Game

A game of social acceptance amongst piers, primarily played by middle aged mothers. The game involves; Performing activities simply to brag about them to other mothers, trying to create a false image of a perfect family to the outside world and pretending to care about certain socially acceptable things.

An example of a mother playing "The Culture Game" is when she drags her family to a museum, that she has no interest in, only to brag about it to her friends and tell them how "insightful" and "refreshing" it was. Another example is when a mother forces her children to attend a gathering even if the children have no connection to the people who will be at the gathering, simply to uphold the image of the perfect family.

The Culture Game comes from a place of longing for social acceptance and fear of rejection. The middle aged mothers are scared of being honest and truthful with their piers, scared to admit fault, disinterest and show weakness, which results in them dragging their families through the mud to keep up the facade.
"I can't believe that mom is playing The Culture Game with aunt Karen again"
