SAFER

Safer Alternative For Enjoyable Recreation (SAFER) is a non-profit organization based in Denver, Colorado. SAFER was founded in January 2005, in response to the fatal alcohol overdoses that occurred on Colorado college campuses during the 2004-2005 school year.

SAFER envisions a society in which adults can use marijuana responsibly without fear of legal penalties or other punishment. Thus, SAFER's mission is to educate the public about the harms of alcohol compared to the much safer, yet illegal substance: marijuana.

Marijuana is safer than alcohol. It's time we treat it that way.
