Located on southern shore of Lake Michigan. Lake County Indiana. 30 miles east of Chicago, Illinois.

A major industrial city back in the day before all the Steel Mills shut down. Then all tha white folk moved out and it became a wasteland. Now its about 90% black with tha rest Hispanic.... but a white mayor (?). And now their tryna raisin the taxes and cost of living when they know people cant afford it. But its all apart of an effort to improve the city by moving lower income people out.... AINT THAT A B!

Known for: The home of the Jackson's (Michael, janet, Joe, Latoya, Tido, etc...). Former murder and crime capital of the world. Popular song from the movie The Music Man ("gary Indiana, gary indiana, gary indiana!)

Indie kid

Yeah, indie kids all look the same.
But so do all emo kids, scene kids, ghetto fab. kids, american eagle snobs, hardXcore freaks, granola hemp queens, preps, jocks, posers of all sorts, etc.
If you find something you love (music, fashion, etc.) then you stick with it.
Most Indie kids are "indie" cause they have their own style/fashion, just like the bands they listen to (not having a huge record label).

Lay off, fuckers.
Get a life; find something you love and stick with it.

Indietronic

Indietronic is a short therm for Electronic Indie. It's known as a musical genre. It's the electronic variant of Indie. (as in rock music) Most of this stuff reached the top in the mid-90s.

indie folk

Bands that combine indie rock/pop and 50's/60's folk music of artists such as Bob Dylan and Nick Drake. Early artists include Will Oldham and Elliott Smith. There are a lot of indie bands that have folk influences like The Shins and Death Cab for Cutie, however these bands are not considered indie folk since they are not traditional folk bands due to the use synthesizers and keyboards and strong elements of other genres such as grunge, power pop and psychedelic rock.

Bright Eyes, Elliot Smith, The Dodos and Iron and Wine are all indie folk artists.

Indie Cindie

The female version of an 'indie kid', or 'indie limey'. Most often seen wearing polka dots and large bags over one shoulder. Also they might have messy 'bed hair' and perhaps wearing what's called an 'indie band' across their forehead, over a large sweeping fringe. Awkwardness and nerd-fashion is a must when it comes to indie cindies. Think Topshop when you think indie cindies; the style originated from shops like that, when girls began creating 'unique' fashion.

A Hadouken! song 'That Boy That Girl' has the lines "That girl's an indie cindie, lego haircut and a polkadot dress." in it.
Cassie from the TV series Skins is a good example.
