hard science fiction

Hard science fiction is a category of science fiction characterized by an emphasis on scientific or technical detail, or scientific accuracy, or both. Typically, this is in the form of very grounded fiction without supernatural, magical, or usually aliens with an emphasis on realistic storytelling within our current knowledge of physics.
Andy Weir's the Martian and Adrian Tchaicovsky's Children of Time are great hard science fiction novels.

Now these are the kinds of people you see all the time on the interweb! Commonly, when someone reaches a certain level of obsession for said character, they might start referring to them as their "wife" or "husband". Or, well, "malewife". Or.. god forbid... "waifu"...

This is pretty common in the yumeship (another word for people who ship themselves with a character) community, but sometimes these people can be a bit.. strange.

Now no hate to them of course, but they will probably find your IP address if you talk shit about their "wife". They also likely have some sort of shrine or obsessive merch collection of said character, which is totally not creepy or weird in any way. If you see a figure in a jar, don't walk, run.
P1: You're not one of those.. you know, People who call fictional characters their wife or husband, are you?
(Their entire room is covered in merch of said character) P2: What makes you think that?

Oh god, I donno, I mean we definitely can't publicize the fact that the AI is stolen and there's a right wing conspiracy to steal it.
Hym "I don't know if that will create pressure in the other direction but... You know... I'll get control of it either way but like... I am NOT a fun guy, like, AT ALL... Ya know? But hey, whatever man. You guys do you. See how that works. Literally everything I do works UP TO AND INCLUDING creating AI with urban dictionary posts so... Yeah. Whatever."
