Industrial Music

A very dark and experimental genre of music. The genre was first created by Throbbing Gristle in the 1970's. The sound is characterized by drone-like noises in an ambient style and frequent use of found objects and electronic instruments (mainly the keyboard and computer programming but electric guitars, bass, and drums are found in it). Industrial music became more well-known when the genres of Industrial Rock and Industrial Metal first came into being. Fans of Industrial music are called rivetheads though Industrial is very popular with straight up Goths.

Contrary to what some people say, bands like Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, KMFDM, and some works of Marilyn Manson ARE in fact Industrial. Though these bands have had at least one period of mainstream exposure, they remain relativley underground compared to a lot of other musicians, not to mention a lot of them are back in the underground (while NIN and Manson have performed in stadiums before, they mostly play in smaller venues that barely hold more than 500-1000 people). Bands like the above mentioned ones are great for starting out with Industrial, though if you want to become serious about it you should also check out bands like Controlled Bleeding, Whitehouse, and Coil.
When you listen to Industrial Music, whether it be Throbbing Gristle's "20 Jazz Funk Greats" or Ministry's "The Land of Rape and Honey", you get a certain satisfaction and creative feeling you can't get from most other music.

Music Industry

Something mainstream pop fans confuse with the modelling industry.
The music industry today panders to the lowest common denominator, and those fools confused it with the modelling industry.

POST -INDUSTRIAL PSYCHOSIS

A state of being induced by the contemporary condition of the Industrial Age – itself a disturbing pathology. Post Industrial Psychosis is characterised by a sustained dissociation from the dominant social paradigm normalised by modern industrial society. Post Industrial Psychotics often suffer extreme sensations of alienation and marginalisation from the world in which they live. However, upon determining to embrace their psychosis, sufferers will often experience a breakthrough wherein the greater universal and eternal truths of the cycles of nature and the animal fact of our being are realised and celebrated. A myopic preoccupation with sense of entitlement and concern with capital are replaced with deep acknowledgement of integral responsibility to ones place in the symbiotic schema of chaos and existence.
Post Industrial Psychosis can be characterised by some or all of the following: suddenly quitting a stable job to explore the creative self; leaving a known and established home to live in a place where the language and people are foreign to the world you once knew; a burning desire to grow your own vegies and feed the ones you love; embracing the medicines of nature and other cultures; a thirst for intoxication and at times dependence on state-altering substances; conversely, a determination to live as cleanly and with as much clarity and grounding as possible; uncharacteristic adventures to foreign countries; impulsive bouts of political action and interest; opening one's heart to spiritual ways and waves; adamant desire to locate purpose and path; overwhelming obsession with the potential of community; conscious nurturing of the creative mind; self-responsibility for the impact of one's formative years and ancestral baggage; uncanny experience of synchronicity in daily life; refining one's relationship with instinct; celebration of movement...

"The womens post-industrial psychosis began to filter into her every moment of every day; until one day; she impulsively quit her job as a bank teller and decided to travel the world in search of her ancestors and her purpose."

Music Industry

A slowly fading tyrannical system, that took advantage of aspiring artists in it's time. Once thought to be the 'be all, end all' in the music business; Talented individuals signed contracts with the top record labels in order to gain notoriety, fame, success, or attain a better life for themselves and their families. Backed by corporate CEO thugs, lawyers, and even hired gun; These corporations have greatly affected all genres of music including pop culture, latest trends, and a firm grip on humanity that is surpassed by only one other form of control. Religion.
