rebop

1. An early version of the term "bebop," i.e., a modern jazz style popularized by Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, and others. The term continued to be popular in England into the 1970s, and is sometimes combined with "bebop" to produce scat-sounding jive talk--e.g. "Bepob with the Rebop."

2. Cab Calloway uses it generally for joyous, intoxicating music, with a hint (as so often in Cab's hep talk) of drugs (see example).

rebound hunger

Eating less and gettting fatter!
This is based on dietricians' extensive studies that has linked certain brain hormones (ghrelin & leptin: store fat as enegry and control appetite respectively), that 'switch off' when a person enters a no-food dieting phase. Becasue of survival pre-wiring, the brain thinks that the body's famined so it stops burning life-affirming fat and store it to preserve vital organs like the heart, liver and kidneys. In the process, one who goes through long periods of fasting (generally stopping food intake and then eating large quantities of food more than you'd normally do to compensate for lost calories in what's known as the 'fast-feast' theory), becomes fatter instead of thinner!

The solution? It's clinical term is 'grazing', which means to eat separate meals through the day consisting usually of 4-6 mini-meals/ day. There's also a fad that promotes this 'eat more, get thinner' diet that ascribes a EMI (Eat More Index: 4,1 or more=2500 cals/day of low-fat diet), restricted to lo-cal fruit/veggies (called 'heavy food'), that you can eat as much as you want and still keep your weight.

Rebound hunger is also called 'Anti-Diet'.

Hardcore Reboot

Turning a computer on and off about 10-20 times as fast as you can. Usually done when your computer does not start up normally and you are to angry to fix it in a calm and constructive manner. Too many sessions could result in permanent damage to a computer.

Windows 98 could not boot to the desktop, so I showed it who's boss. Now it won't even turn on.

Rebound Double Depression

When someone breaks up with their partner, and quickly rebounds, subsequently dumping, or being dumped by, the rebound. The person becomes doubly depressed as they didn't properly grieve for the first relationship, so are projecting their feelings onto the rebound break up.

"God, She really needs to get over Stan. They only dated for like three weeks and she's so cut up about it"

"Don't you know, she broke up with her boyfriend of 2 years just before. It's just rebound double depression"

pathetic rebound fuck

A person (guy or girl) who immediately starts dating someone who just out of a serious relationship. This person is usually there on the 'rebound' to fill the void left by the previous significant other.

Liz just broke up with her boyfriend of three years and now Jeff's dating her. He's a pathetic rebound fuck.
