Stan-ley Par-a-ble (Stan-lee par-uh-buhl)

Noun.

1. A descriptor for a situation or dilemma in which the best course of action would be to follow the path laid out for one's self, potentially by an omniscient or omnipresent figure, wherein all other courses of action would lead to certain failure.
2. A reference to the video game Source Mod of the same name.

Stop trying to find other ways around it and trust me. The easiest way to get this done is to just do it the way I'm telling you. You're caught in a Stanley Parable.

Parachute Regiment

The most elite and highly trained regiment in the British military. Recruits undergo exclusive training at Catterick, Yorkshire, before undergoing the gruelling P-Company, a week of physical endurance tests, the military equivalent of evolution; only the strong will survive. Generally full of young men too violent for civilian life, the Parachute Regiment is the generals' 'weapon of choice' when attacking heavily defended enemy positions.

"I was going to join the Parachute Regiment but...." (generally followed by a weak excuse, for example, "I suffered a heart attack on P-Company.")

Parade Day

In Scranton, Pennsylvania, a day in March during which a grand St. Patrick's Day Parade is held. However, the vast majority of people simply use the day as an excuse to drink all day long and stay in a state of constant drunkenness. Bars bring in tremendous revenue during this day, some of which virtually depend on Parade Day. Most people in Scranton consider Parade Day a holiday and some would even call it their favorite.

"Oh man, I can't wait for Parade Day! We're gonna get shit-faced!"

muddy parachute

Freshly wiped poop on toilet paper that is being thrown over the stall wall which gently descends on the person in the adjacent stall.

My buddy Todd and I were in the bathroom dropping a deuce at the local Arby's when I told him to look up and tossed him a muddy parachute.
