Archaic: A man living in an undiscovered area, on the frontier of a new land. Lives off resources and things in the wild.

Modern: Since there are very few undiscovered areas remaining, the term has been extended to encompass men who explore bushes, also known as shrubbery.

You can see this name being used by many people such as doctors, lawyers, even restaurants for its amazing last name and history.
