Hug from Hitler

An idiom meaning to be congratulated or rewarded for something bad, ex. someone thanking you or giving you something for shoplifting for them.

It can also mean that the literal ghost of Hitler gave you a hug, but we don't want to go into that.

So the teacher gave you extra credit for sabotaging that kid's performance? That's really a hug from Hitler ain't it.
