Hipster

Middle class materialistic white kids who have no real interests, hobbies or personality and does not do hipster activites for fun but do it to be oh so ironic and ultimately conformist. A hipster is under the pretension that they rebellious and original when they are far from it. Hipsters only have 'surface' interests in things, they are poseury and only do it for the whole 'look at me' factor. They manage to take different aspects of other subcultures in a poseury fashion without having any interest in it and destroy and are a disgrace to the subculture. In conclusion hipsters are overgrown 12 year olds who are poseury and attention seeking and try and hide the fact that they have no hobbies or interests other that shopping. The good thing is that this tends to surface around 14 years old and most of them they'll grow out of it before they hit 25 where they will realise how boring and ordinary they are.

Take punk: hipsters wear dr.martens and their £80 acid 'grungey'wash jeans, pretend they are liberal say 'f*cking tories', they have no real knowledge of politics or of views or experiences on specific social issues and I promise you that they'll be voting tory in 10 years time. Take sporty subculture: they wear adidas originals because they want to look 'cool' but have no interests in sport as that wouldn't be hipster.

Hipster

An evolved emo. Usually happens when a closet emo or an actual emo discovers that there is in fact, other colors other than black and pink so they star mixing it up a lot to a point that their clothes wont match.

Unlike the species from which they evolved, they don't try to act suicidal, on the contrary, they act like life is nice to them even though everybody hates them even other hipsters.

They tend to "like" things like music and clothes that non-hipsters don't like because that makes them feel special an superior even though it makes the look stupid and asshole-y. This is in part because when they were emo they used to think they were shit and now they think they are The Shit, this kind of thinking, of course, is wrong.

Irony, no matter how much they try, wont work for them because they simply don't know how to use it.

They are usually NOT poor people but tend to act like it.

Male hipsters usually become really thin and Female hipsters start dressing non-sexy.
They also wear overpriced used clothes.

Andy:Look at the way that guy is dressed, it so much color i think I'm gonna have seizure!
Jorge:Uh-hu
Andy:What the fuck is he listening to?!
Jorge:Sound like shit
Andy: his girlfriend looks kinda cute but her clothes! Ugh

hipster black metal

Equal to "Transcendental Black Metal" because the band is made up of pretentious hipsters who focus on life giving themes instead of Satanism, Darkness, Death, Anger, or Sorrow; and consider themselves higher than other, more kvlt, bands who wear corpse paint. Other traits of Hipster Black Metal is a focus on burst beats (just different drum beats in a song, not actually a type of drumming) and artsy music videos filled with non-kvlt themes like an airplane flight or live performance with out kick ass corpse paint.

Hipster1: Oh dude! This new album from (insert generic hipster black metal band name like "Liturgy")?!
Hipster2: No, what's it about?
Hipster1: Awh man! It is about life and how great it is! It's totally anti-corpse paint as well.

The modern Bohemians. A mid-twenties person who works at a low paying job, is interested in "Artsy things" Hipsters tend to swarm around the determined "Hipster" part of town, ex. Wicker Park in Chicago. Hipster Ladies should have short hair and wear thrift shop clothes and Male Hipsters should be anemically skinny to let people know that they are poor and cant afford enough food.

When I grow up I want to live in a studio apartment in Wicker Park and work at Starbucks, it would be cool being a Hipster.
