Driftless region

A portion of the southwest corner of Wisconsin and surrounding states, where, during the time when glaciers covered North America, the glaciers didn't run over the land, leaving bluffs, valleys, and many rolling hills.

People often adopt the word "driftless" into their small business store names.

Person 1: damn it's beutiful here why are there so many hills?
Person 2: oh that's because it's the driftless region! Anyways do you want to go to the driftless café that are award winning!

A city region is an area comprised of one main city as a central business hub, which links to other nearby towns and cities through a transport network, thus creating a single economic unit.

We’re delivering on our promise of making Manchester a greener, fairer and more prosperous city region for all.

This modern transport network has really created a thriving city region and brought jobs to the people. It brings a tear to my eye!

Da south-of-da-border area where da colonial loyalists emigrated to after their "viva King George" viewpoints because politically unpopular.

Advice for all of you non-Patriots considering a hasty retreat to da equatoryal regions: fleeing to said sweltering "middle ground" could indeed help you find neutrality as far as your beliefs regarding who should govern da New World, but you'll likely find yourself to again be in a whole lotta "hot water" --- literally --- if you try to bathe in any of da oceans or lakes in said super-toasty locale!

Carbon Region

A concept that flips the idea of a personal "carbon footprint" on its head by analyzing the systemic, macro-level structures that determine an individual's environmental impact. If your carbon footprint is about your personal choices, the Carbon Region is about the neighborhood, city, or country you're born into—the pre-existing conditions you have no control over. It's the difference between choosing to bike to work (your footprint) and living in a city designed with bike lanes and dense housing versus a sprawling car-dependent suburb (your region).
