When the girl wanted to look like an astronaut, a soldier, or an athlete, something that would make her look good, or serious, or positive (or tough), she wanted to look like a dude, but she didn't want to look like a dude for the full range of things a dude is, she didn't want to look like a loser or a junkie, she didn't want any negative image that would go with being a dude. She would let a male wear the shoe no matter who it fit, she would let the male be the coward she was too much of a coward to be openly, because she was a poser.

Get the lollapa-posermug. Someone who acts like they're from Baltimore even though they're from outside Harrisburg. Someone who has not only a thousand different screen names or online profiles, but also has fictional hometowns or current locations, fictional lives to go with them. A poser tries to outdo other people at silliness while trying to get taken more seriously than everyone else.
The poser was always this and that, always under somebody else's skin to make himself/herself look/feel more authentic. The poser wanted an authentic image.
