burning daylight

A film industry slang term. Used as a way to tell actors and crew to hurry up as natural daylight wanes. Since the sun's position and quality changes throughout the day, sunlit shoots can be challenging to match later in editing, so it's important to get scenes done efficiently. This phrase is often used jokingly indoors to spur on the film crew.

Get your rubber masks on and get back into the swamp... we're burning daylight!

Bouncing Bomb

A slang term given by his freinds and peers to a large, cylindrical young member of Timberland Cricket Club, on the outskirts of Lincoln, UK.

Some people from the higher social echelons claim army ranks as nicknames, for example, the general, the colenal or the captain. however, this child thinks he is ranked a bit higher than he actually is within our small, rural club.

Therefore, another army name has been asigned to him... the bouncing bomb

1) jesus christ! please, just get the Bouncing Bomb on strike

2) wow, the Bouncing Bomb is destroying them out there

3) boing boing, its the bomb again!

Burning Lamb

A nod to the famous Burning Man festival in Nevada, Burning Lamb refers to an massive annual lamb roast held on Saturna Island in BC. Saturna is one of the southern Gulf islands, and this huge BBQ brings many tourists and locals to celebrate Canada's national holiday on the July 1st long weekend. Dozens of local lamb are traditionally roasted outdoors around an open fire. Local food and meat roasting at its best!

I was so full after Burning Lamb I had to pass out on the grass starfish-style.
