Guilt Spam

Social media memes, emails, or status updates that propagate themselves by making one feel guilty about not reposting, forwarding, or sharing. Usually involves a sensitive and emotionally charged topic such as abortion or animal abuse. Guilt spam has no real purpose, gives no useful information, and is not humorous except in an ironic way, yet will appear multiple times on your Facebook newsfeed due to pressure to share the status or meme, thus falling into the category of spam.

"Like and share this picture if you are against abortion. If not, keep scrolling."

"Repost this if you support cancer research. I know which of my friends will share, and who will keep scrolling."

To use in a sentence: "I'm going to start blocking people who send me guilt spam. Of course I support cancer research, but I'm not going to repost this picture just because you are trying to make me feel guilty."

2. n. a canned precooked "meat product" from Hormel Foods. "Classic Spam" consists of "pork shoulder meat with ham meat added," salt, water, sugar and sodium nitrite. The product has become part of many jokes and urban legends about mystery meat, which has made it part of pop culture and folklore.

Use of the term "spam" for unwanted email was adopted as a result of the Monty Python skit in which a group of Vikings sang a chorus of "spam, spam, spam . . . " in an increasing crescendo, drowning out other conversation. Hence, the analogy applied because such bulk mail can drown out normal discourse on the Internet.

instagram spam

An Instagram spam is a second account created by a person who wants to post whatever they want and as much as they want at any given time. The content usually differs for what they post on their main/first account. Usually, only close friends are allowed to follow these types of accounts.

"Hey, Natasha, did you see my Instagram spam? I posted some ugly selfies of yours on there!"

moonfire spam

A technique used by druids in World of Warcraft whereby the offensive spell moonfire is repeatedly applied to a single target. The method is considered useful in PvP situation but is wasteful of mana and often denotes poor playing skill. Sometimes considered valid as a finishing move on a target with low health.

I was at 75% health and some boomkin tried to moonfire spam me down. What a noob.
