Postmortem objectification

A major societal problem where individuals are no longer valued as people after they die and instead are valued by society and the government as property, financial resources, and or objects
An example of postmortem objectification is when grave robbery laws treat deceased people as property instead of people, which can be inferred from language used in the laws and whether the penalty for committing the crime is more similar to that area’s laws about abduction or theft.

objectivism

The philosophy of Ayn Rand, who had one of the leading noses of her era; states that one's virtue is measured in their ability to be a self-obsessed egotist. Easily characterized by their slavish adherence to irony, in that the foloowers of this 'individualistic' (read-spoiled) philosophy tend to be some of the biggest tools you'll ever meet.

Also notable for it's idea that there is no disagreement among rational minds-this is basically the philosophical equivalent of an 8-year-old kid playing Cops & Robbers who totally just got shot, but all of a sudden claims he has "special bullet proof invincibility armor." Whatever, kid. For more, see douchebaggery.
Many over-achieving high-school students, in deeming that their parents are failures, turn to objectivism to feel better about themselves, but they're really just putting off the inevitable.

objectivist

"My philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute." -Ayn Rand

Objectified

A term originally associated with 19th century German philosophy, especially that of Hegel, in which the positive action of a person (the Subject/actor) transformed that which was acted upon (the Object/thing acted upon). 20th century radicals subsequently referred to cultures or peoples who were exploited, sexualized or romanticized in by Westerners as being "Objectified" in and by Western culture, rather than understood has having their own identities and agency.
Tunisian novelist Albert Menni's "The Colonizer and the Colonized" is one of the best books about how the European conquest of North Africa objectified Arabs and their culture.
