Georgians are the native inhabitants of this land, and are sometimes called Gruzins by their neighbors, these Georgians have lived in this land for over 4000 years, with very little genetic or cultural change. Georgian language comprises it’s own language family, called Transcaucasian, and is notoriously difficult to learn, and actually uses 3 different alphabets, though the most common is Mkhedruli. Georgians were some of the earliest people to become Christian, and the majority of Georgians are members of the Georgian Orthodox Church, although Laz Georgians are mostly Muslim.
