In Warcraft III, it means closing all the open slots in a game and reopening them so the game appears further up on the custom game list. Thus, getting more people in your game.

Being forced to change ones cell phone number or email address due to being consistently contacted by undesired parties or persons, such as ex-lovers.

Since I was getting so much spam, I just had to refresh my email address.

refresh monkey

Someone who visits a regularly updated website and uses their browser's refresh capability frequently in an effort to view the updated content as soon as possible after it is posted. This especially applies to sites where the updated content includes a feature such as a message board where fans of the site try to get bragging rights by making the first post (aka fipo or fpotd).

You generally have to wade through several "first post" attempts from refresh monkeys before you get to the first real discussion.

Refresh Button Rape

The act of vigorously pressing your refresh button multiple times within a relatively short time period. This action can be caused by a multitude of things, including the release of a new album or game.

Nerd 1: Hey man, wanna go play some World of Warcraft?
Nerd 2: Can't, I've gotta go Refresh Button Rape the hell out of my keyboard so I can get into Pottermore early.

Refresh rate

The period of rest between sex. Usually applies to the male and how long it takes him to become errect again. Allusion is to the time it takes a web browser to pull up a web page. Fater refresh rates being more deserable than slower ones
