It uses “proof” as a cudgel to enforce epistemic hierarchy and cultural supremacy.

There is a trend with college age or millennials that are hypersensitive to the point where they look for an inkling that something is sexist or racist or crude and publicly calls them out and shames them. This makes them feel superior to that person.
