Someone who feels they must treat an escalator as a staircase, bringing guilt to the rest of the parties on the escalator, unless they also do so.

Jane: "Why is that girl bounding up the escalator like it's a flight of stairs? She's making the rest of us look lazy for just standing here riding it!"
Jill: "She's a total escalator overachiever."

Closet Overachiever

A co-worker that lures you in to thinking that mediocrity is commonplace at the office. Just when you think you are both on the same page he or she will make look bad by putting together elite spreadsheets, cutting edge PowerPoints, and insightful talking points at meetings.

John: Where is Lindsay? She normally takes a 2 hour lunch with us?

Jim: Oh you didn't know? Turns out she is a closet overachiever.

3: Someone that desires more than is needed.

The over-achiever would not get married until she found the perfect father for her future babies. She died alone in her early fifties.
