I grew up in LA, and like the brightest of my
friends,
got out, first
chance I got. By the mid-eighties, the city had become the worst of all worlds, a place which combined the congestion, crime, and pollution of
urban life with the lethal inanity of suburban life. Twenty years later, Los Angeles is even more polluted and dangerous than it was back in the eighties.
Foreign tourists have always despised Los Angeles because of its hideous sprawl, suffocating smog and one's inability to get around on foot, but statistics reveal that these days, even Americans prefer such destinations as New York City, Miami, San
Francisco, Las Vegas, to America's "second city," Los Angeles. What's more, last year, LA experience a net outflow of native Angelenos. Something is wrong, very wrong, with Los Angeles.
If you'
re part of the West Los Angeles tribe,
bitchin'
man! Otherwise, Los Angeles bites the big one!
