translave

to translate e.g. documents in large numbers for someone who clearly overuses his/her authority and position in the company by giving you things he/she could translate by himself/herself
Anita: Busy? What are you doing?
Tony: I've just learnt that my job is also to translate or I should say: translave. So I'm translaving this moron's presentation. It is so basic that he could do it by himself, but of course - he has his people to do it. I hate the fact that I can speak Spanish.

Translate server error

A famous Chinese restaurant popularised during the 2008 Olympics. Possibly named after a failed attempt to use online translation service to produce an English name for the maison.

- Er translate server error?

License Plate Translation

When someone spots a license plate that is either consists of a standard format or vanity plate & tries to decipher what it could translate to.
To kill time while I am driving, I like to find license plates that I can translate into acronym definition or determine what the douchebag was trying to define, I call it License Plate Translation.

I saw GOOD BFD & figured it may have meant, Good Big Fucking Dick or perhaps GOOD Bad Food Diet... although both are almost as lame.

Expecto Patronum (Actual Translation)

1 A spell in Harry Potter that scares away dementors, best used when you have a happy memory in your head
2 Not Joking. Expecto Patronum is a Latin word, and, can you guess what it is? In English it is, "I await a Guardian"
1: Harry: Expecto Patronum!

Ron: Wow, Harry, that was brilliant!
2: Jim: Expecto Patronum!
Latin Dude who knows English: You await a guardian?!(expecto patronum (actual translation))
Jim: WHATT???
Latin Dude: Expecto Patronum...oh harry potter..
Jim: i..await..a..guardian????....

Lost in Translation

An amazing film written and directed by Sofia Coppola and starring Scarlett Johansson and Bill Murray.

It's about two people who are visiting Japan and who feel lost in life. Their chance meeting leads to a touching and intimate friendship and the film follows their attemts to find themselves in a strangely familiar and beautiful yet alien and bewildering environment.

The film is shot beautifully and the music combines with amazing shots of Tokyo to produce an incredibly moving film.
"Magical, funny, truly soulful, classically timeless... an absolute must see" - Uncut

"Phenomenal... film of the year!" - Arena

Winner of Acadamy Award for Best Screenplay 2004, 3 Golden Globes and 3 BAFTAS
