Trap
A term used in the anime community to describe the character archetype of male characters who dress and present themselves as women (not to be confused with transgenderism), a good example would be Chihiro Fujisaki from Danganronpa.
However, it should be noted that people in the LGBT community have criticized the word as people started using the term as a slur against trans women, along with it's relation to the gay/trans panic defense legal strategy.
Instead, you should try using the Japanese term "otokonoko" when talking about these characters.

Trap
A trap is a term referring to an anime character who represents themselves both emotionally and physically as a different gender than they actually are. This can be said for any gender but it is most commonly used to describe a male character who dresses and is represented in a very feminine way. Even to the extreme where people in that show or the audience may mistake or assume the character to be a woman, only until its is specifically revealed to be wrong. Some people in the anime community have found this term to be offensive or even transphobic since the term is mostly used in a negative light. It is also easy for people to accuse characters of being traps, even if the a character is only doing something minor such as crossdressing, which most of the time does not fit the term since you are already known up front that they are not the gender they are presented as. So make sure when your using the phase it fits this definition!

Trap
ghetto place that if you stay there too long you get trapped there. The people and circumstances bring you down. You make friends with someone they ask you for a ride to work. You get profiled and pulled over. Dude has drugs on him and sticks it in your glove box. Cops arrest both of you. Now you got a felony and can't get financial aid to go to college. You end up working at the local McDonald's. Now you trapped. Dude asks you for a ride to work because it's the trap and doesn't want to walk. You say no. He gets fired for being late. Now you got beef and get mugged by his homies. Now you scared to go outside so you don't get mugged again. So you stay in the house and it feels like you are trapped there. That's the trap house. A lot of times people end up selling drugs in the trap house. They fortify it with armed people making little safe places in an otherwise dangerous area.
