wikipedant

A person who updates Wikipedia immediately after a breaking news story regardless of how mundane and/or apocryphal it may be.

Derived from Wikipedia (a Web site that allows collaborative editing of its content and structure by its users) and Pedant (a person who is excessively concerned with minor details and rules or with displaying academic learning).
You mean to tell me you were online Saturday night at midnight updating Wikipedia's Scotty Bowman entry after rumours of his impending hiring by the Toronto Maple Leafs? Man, you're not only a wikipedant, you are a loser!

Wikipedian Loop

The Wikipedian Loop occurs when the use of Wikipedia to research a particular subject leads to an infinite loop of addiction.

This addiction is characterised by staring transfixed at Wikipedia pages for hours at a time and usually results in varying levels of frustration and distress at the impossibility of ever successfully reading through all the Wikipedia pages currently open without the urge to open even more to linked subjects and thus continue the Loop.

At its climax an infinite number of screens may be open (allowing for your computers capabilities).

I got sucked into a Wikipedian Loop man, I was there for like 5 hours, I started on 'Smallpox' and ended up in 'History of Adidas'...I had 26 screens open...luckily the computer crashed or I'd still be there now...

Wikipedian Zombie

Someone who keeps clicking the "Random article" button on wikipedia in the hope of finding something vaguely funny or interesting.
The first 10 times he clicked random article he could still communicate, but now he doesn't respond to any sort of stimulation. It's no use, he's a Wikipedian Zombie now.

wikipedestrian

A term to describe an individual who initially accesses Wikipedia for reference purposes, but after navigating through interesting wiki links finds themselves minus half a day and plus a growing collection of Wikipedia windows; each spanning vastly different topics.
John: I was using Wikipedia to find info on a band I like; next thing I knew it was four hours later and I had 30 Wikipedia windows open.
Jane: You're such a wikipedestrian.
John: This is never going to catch on.
Jane: That's because you're not selling it, 'find info on a band'? Please, that sounds so fake.
