1. Used to define a person who is very skilled or adept at an activity.
2. Used specifically by those in the football/soccer meld to describe a player who possesses great ability to dupe opponents with moves or tricks. Players who possess excellent ball skills and move easily past opponents.
Ex1. Person 1: John paints so well.
Person 2: Yeah, he's a hotstepper.
Ex2. Ashley's a hotstepper, with a bag of tricks a mile wide.

Known by those who have to live in college dorms. To hot step is to use tricky footwork fast and in secession while navigating down a hall or in an elevator to avoid stepping in puke, blood, pee, shit, or whatever else plagues the walls and floor from (usually) shitfaced students.
To fail at conquering the hot step usually leads one to track unwanted mess into their pad.

A sub-genre of dubstep. Is not quite as filthy as dubstep, and will typically have rap vocals and more of a hip-hop feel. Seen first in the UK, hopstep made its way into American on the coat tails of dubstep.
DJ was spinnin' some mad dubstep last night, then he dropped the grime and spit some freestyle hopstep on a mad dub beat.
