Etymology: A double entendre for one of its prime examples, the novel series Twilight, criticized as being an original work of fiction with fanfiction-like refereces to pre-existing works most notably from Anne Rice.

I read this twilit book of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Queen of the Damned. It had a Buffy vampire character trying to slay other vampires to help those not infected

Something the video game The Legend of Zelda, Twilight Princess puts in front of the title of every pre- Zant boss (with some exceptions, I.E. Twilit bloat miniboss) Possibly They misspelled or didn't have enough character spaces for twilight.

Overreacting to a somewhat overwhelming situation for the person twilighting, but for others, the situation isn’t that bad. The person tends to overthink, overplan, and hyperventilate.

Friend: Uh, hey, are you doing alright?

Vanilla Twilight 

It's a song, you sex-obsessed idiots! A perfectly innocent Owl City song about a guy who misses his girlfriend (or perhaps even a platonic friend, it isn't clear). Stop trying to turn it into something dirty.

When he uses the term, "Vanilla Twilight", he is literally talking about the color of the sky:
