1. When a female character in any work of fiction who, in previous works, had very large bosoms is suddenly made to have much smaller ones in newer works. Generally associated with video games.

2. Catch all term to describe the attempts of feminists and other social justice interested groups to manipulate entertainment media into removing sexual content.

Example 1: Tifa Lockhart, Lara Croft, and Sonya Blade have all been flatwashed.

Example 2: Feminists argue that the slave leia scene from starwars should be edited or removed because of misogynistic content. This is an example of the second definition of flatwashing.

Flatwalling 

When someone prevents you from doing something either physically or metaphorically from going any further with your intended endeavours or intentions.

E.g. 1. Yeah, she really wanted that Saturday Job at the Ice Cream Parlour but then her Parents flatwalled her by grounding her on the day of her interview just so she couldn't get the Job - unbelievable!
E.g. 2. Without her parents signing her grant form she won't be able to go to University and they won't do it because they don't want her to go. However, she's smart so she'll find a way around that flatwalling.
