This is often due to laziness, lack of intelligence, or capricious behavior. The term draws a comparison to the fast-food chain McDonald's, known for its cheap and low-quality products as well as McDojos that fail to properly train their students in martial arts.
John's parents are McParents who never cared about his education. They never checked his grades, didn't help him with homework, and allowed him to skip school several times.
