A fearful, cowardly retreat from a fight, and later claiming to be re-grouping for a counter charge in order to save face.
He says his "partial withdraw" from the Ukraine boarder is a strategic manuever, but it sounds like a 'Reno's Charge' to me!

mother hen
A female pimp who controls prostitutes and arranges clients for them, taking part of their earnings in return.
Her girls felt safer working for her than for previous abusive male pimps. Indeed, Maddie was a 'mother hen' with a reputation for protecting her girls.

Hippie minded
A person, or people who abandons conventional lifestyles to show their unhappiness with mainstream society. They try to live a freer and more natural lifestyle, one without restraints.
He is 75 years old and still wearing torn jeans, tie-dyed shirts and sandals. He was at Woodstock in '69 and is still very much 'Hippie minded' here in his senior years.

A cotton picking term meaning: You pick cotton from when you "can" see...until when you "can't" see.
When I lived in Mississippi I picked cotton for a while. It is hard work! You pick from can-to-can't...from sun up to sun down.
