I don't know how a Hermit is synonomous with loser or lazy but whatever.
Anyway Hermits are people who tend to not want to socialize with other humans all the time. Most spend their entire lives wandering the planet. Like loners they do tend to make friends, and associates, and can pretty much network with anyone, but they choose not to go any further than a hollow friendship. Though they do run in to the best plutonic relationships.
Hermits, and loners are not socially inept, but hermits tend to not like to stay in the same place for very long. Thus not permitting the time it takes to actually be in some kind of crappy group or something like that.

Introverted people gain their energy from their own, complexed inner world, and tend to feel exhausted when they have to interact A LOT with people. (exrtoverted people gain their energy from the people around them)Whereas shyness is a form of anxiety. It's when you worry about what people will think, say or do about you if you do something. It's a symptom caused by many many factors, while Introversion is JUST YOU.

I'm a very introverted person. Though I tend to be charismatic, and people gather around me. I'm very lonely, and tend to only enjoy being with myself, and learning about myself. I have to think a lot because my brain uses its frontal lobe, and stores things in my long term memory bank. AS you know I'm American, and I live in a very extroverted society. Where fast talk, and acting on impulse is valued more than careful planning, and meaniful thinking.

A person that tends to enjoy their own company. They are very introversive(meaning they have a harder time making friends.). Though I wouldn't say they are that way because they are socially retard, but they are rather more comfortable being by themselves. With this being said. Loners tend to be the less stressed out over social issues, and tend to be able to solidify, and worry more on their real problems. Contrary to popular belief. Loners do make friends, but tend not to want to hang out in groups. If in a gorup they will just be quiet, and will only say something if they know the subject well enough. Being a loner is what everyone dreams of, but when seeing one. They usually get viewed in a negative light.
I've been a loner due to the fact that the pressures of being within a social discourse community is too vast, and very irritating. People get mad over the dumbest shit, and tend to worry over things that aren't real problems...Like surviving..... I have a few friends, and I pretty much know a lot of people that know me. Though I'm always by myself. I doubt its my fault, but I'm kinda lazy when it comes to trying to make friends anyway... :P
