hag along

Straight women who love gay men are called fag hags, so when these ladies follow the guys around and want to be their best friends, instead of being tag alongs, they are hag alongs.
"You guys are going to the Triangle? Can I hag along?"

"I use my hag along as a beard for Thanksgiving."

In no-limit poker, to bet all of your chips as a sign of total confidence in your hand.

If you have a very good hand, go all-in to win the maximum number of chips or to scare off mediocre hands so they won't catch the cards they need to beat yours. If you have a bad hand, you can bluff by going all-in and hope everyone folds.
I went all-in on thirty miles and that river rat caught a runner-runner flush.

runner-runner

(adj) Describes the way a hand won in Texas Hold'em Poker if the turn (fourth) and river (fifth) cards saved it from losing.
That river rat -- all he had were rags til he caught that runner-runner flush on the board.

Oh man, what a chaser. He calls my all-in with a double gut-shot, then gets a runner-runner straight on the river. Unbelievable.

gut-shot

In poker, four out of five cards needed to make a straight if the middle number is the one missing.

Opposite of open-ended (four cards in a row that will make a straight with either low or high card).

A gut-shot straight draw is less likely to suceed because there are only four cards that can help you. Open-ended straight draws have better odds because there are eight cards that can make your straight.

Open-ended

In poker, four cards in a row that need either one higher or lower to complete a straight. (_,6,7,8,9,_)

Opposite of gut-shot (four out of five cards in a row that are missing the center number).

Open-ended straight draws have better odds because there are eight cards that can make your straight. Gut-shots are less likely to suceed because there are only four cards that can help you.
I was chip leader and open-ended. I didn't want the guy to double up, but he was like all-in with the blind, so I called it and caught the 5 on the river. Busted his pocket rockets.
