The 2020s

The 2020s are the current decade, as of writing. They have generally been a rough time for humanity, defined by war, disease, political division, and the rise of generative AI.
We are living through the 2020s. As of when I am writing this, Wednesday, July 9th, 2025, we are living closer to the 2030s than we are to the 2010s.
It’s a place where you pay a bunch of money, and spend a lot of time doing coursework, in order to get a piece of paper called a degree. This piece of paper tells your employer that you had the motivation to get up in the morning, take notes, and go through exams or presentations. Most of the time, unless you’re studying engineering or something, you’re not going to be using the knowledge that you learned in the workplace. It’s also quite expensive, if you live in the United States.
College can be either the greatest 4-5 years of your life, or the loneliest.

Antarctica

Antarctica is an extremely cold place, and quite possibly the most remote area on Earth. It is located in the Southern Hemisphere, spans all lines of longitude on a world map, and is the only continent with no permanent human population. At any given point during the year, there are anywhere from ~1,000-5,000 people there working as researchers for various world governments, such as the United States, United Kingdom, and Argentina. During the Summer (December-February, in the Southern Hemisphere) and Winter (June-August), the continent experiences 24 hours a day of sunlight (midnight sun) and darkness (polar night), respectively.
Penguins and orcas live in Antarctica. The city of Ushuaia, Argentina is the closest city to the Antarctic peninsula.
What I have on my desk next to me, as of writing, that I use to store pencils and pens. It’s also something that Urban Dictionary is advertising below this definition, as well as all others on the website.
A mug can also be used to store a beverage, usually coffee.
To simply define it, an atheist is just someone who doesn’t believe in the existence of a higher power. We’re not people who believe in things like an afterlife, deities, prayers, religious rituals, etc. A normal atheist has no real problem with other people being religious or spiritual, so long as they keep that to themselves and don’t try to force others to adapt to their beliefs.
I am an atheist. When I was about 12 years old, I realized that there is no such thing as a higher power, nor do we go anywhere after we die. Everything is stored in your brain, and when your brain ceases to function that’s the end of you. You just return to the same state of non-existence that existed before you were born.
Steam is a digital video games distribution service, developed by the Valve Corporation. It was launched in 2003 to serve as a DRM for initially just Valve titles, but began to allow third party content beginning in 2005. Since then, it has grown to be the largest digital distribution platform for PC games, and also has social-media like features, with its system of highly customizable user profiles, the ability to add and message friends, as well as a feature to create and join groups.
I bought a lot of games, that I’ll likely never play, during the last Steam sale.
Apple Inc. is a Cupertino, California, United States based technology company, and is best known for their mobile devices, such as iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, and the Apple Watch. Their products come at a premium, sometimes referred to as the “Apple tax” by enthusiasts of their products.
Apple products may be quite expensive, I believe their computers are definitely overpriced, but you can always count on them to be very aesthetically pleasing.
