The familiar is what people miss if it does change. It's easier to do what everybody else does and try to change, to change yourself, or to try and change the world around you, than it is to stand against the people trying to change it all because they see dollar signs in doing so.

Get the Familiarmug. All those years before 1969, there was no ageism, then suddenly there is ageism. It makes you wonder if the same is true about sexism or racism, and how much you hear about any of it is actually true.
Ageism seems like one of those things somebody came up with that a bunch of other people joined in and said ageism, oh yeah, I know what this guy is talking about, I've experienced that too.

Get the Ageismmug. Some people say they beat a case in court. There is no such thing as going to court and beating a case, you're still going to lose money every time you enter a courtroom even if the DA/prosecuting team isn't guaranteed a conviction to go on your record, if you haven't already served at least a few weeks in jail for a charge you didn't get convicted of. As long as the machine/system is what you're fighting, what you call a win or beating a case is really just breaking even by not losing everything, and you're always going to lose at least some of your money to part of the machine/system, no matter what. Though that would discourage a lot of people, it doesn't mean that no fight is worth fighting, even if there is no winning in the end.
Machiavellian Victory is a struggle with a Machiavellian force (a Machiavellian prince or princess, a part of the machine) where you don't lose everything for once.

If you're from a town 20 minutes away from a town you call your hometown now, it's great that you're from there and hopefully you're glad to be from there, but if you're honest with yourself, the town 20 miles away is still your true hometown, that will never change because you can't go back and change it, no matter who in the town you claim believes your heart comes from the same place as theirs, because you aren't telling them the full truth. It doesn't matter what people believe to be true, it matters what is true. No matter what you do for the town you claim, you are not being yourself by claiming a town you're not originally from is your true hometown, your true hometown is where you're originally from, because that is where your heart is originally from, that is where it first started beating. True to life is being true to who you really are, not true to what you want people to see or love. It's better to be hated for who you are than loved or even liked for who you are not.

Get the hometownmug. The new world/new normal/new order some people try to tell everyone they are living in is what the New world order is trying to establish, and if people allow it instead of wake up and fight, that is what they will end up with.
The New world order is what happens when people are encouraged to forget the way things were and the way people were. There wasn't really much of an order until the New world world order came along trying to establish a new one and disturb everyone's peace.
