Solid mantis's definitions
Theres a few things about the Truman show that fuck with your head. Jim Carrey is a somewhat tall actor, and you think of a Truman character as being a short guy with Napoleon's syndrome. Marlon seems more like a guy that would bring a 40 by and want to listen to reggae music after work (with a bluetooth device in his ear) than a white guy with blond hair who shows up with a 6 pack, if he's not an Italian guy that wants to talk business with you. It's not a bad movie, there are just a few inconsistencies about it.
The Truman Show is different than what you would think it would be. It's not meant to be funny, but it's also not a sad movie either. It's kind of like a part of hell, a slice of hell taken from the rest of hell broke loose.

Get the Badgemug. Hitler preached about peace, making life better, and all the same things Martin Luther King, John Lennon, or Gandhi preached about. The difference between them was what in they practiced, not in what they preached.
Anybody can talk about peace and making the world better, no matter what their true intentions are. Hitler is an example of someone who could deliver convincing speeches about how and what he wanted to do to make the world better, but it was his intentions he was acting on, not his words.

Get the Hitlermug. A governor who's not really a Democrat or a Republican, someone there to get people to comply with the one he/she is a puppet for, since saying you're a Republican or Democrat is meaningless in the first place, and parties dont determine alliances.

Get the Puppet Democrat governormug. Besides an unlikable guy with lots of money and a talent for playing guitar (and not beating someone with one as a weapon, since that allegedly got him knocked out) who would Pete Townshend be without the Who? Is it somehow unfair to Pete Townshend to think or say any of that? It's possible to respect somebody's ability/talent (not underestimate their capability) while having no respect for who and what they are as a human being.
Roger Daltry makes it sound like he wouldn't be anybody in particular without the Who, but really the Who was still a likeable band with him as the face of the band (before the 80s). It hasn't been the same since Pete Townshend started convincing everyone else in the band that he was the best thing to ever happen to the Who, and that nobody else was good enough to question him. At least Roger Daltry seems like a guy who had some heart.
