A plural exclamation of extreme humourosity.

OR

When followed by a question mark, a needy request to find out whether a joke has been accepted or not.
Girl 1: That is funnies!
Girl 2: Did you just say fannies?
Girl 1: No! That mishearing was what one might call 'funnies'!

Girl 1: What's brown and sticky?
Girl 2: ...
Girl 1: A stick!
Girl 2: ...
