Robin Hood

In the state of Texas, USA (and possibly other states), a policy of applying a greater amount of taxes collected from public school districts to less affluent school districts, which pay a higher tax percentage.

Robin Hood is one of the state education policies most criticized by conservatives and Republicans, along with affirmative action and bilingual education.

Greyhound

1) A Dallas-based bus transportation company that carries passengers and packages throughout the US and bordering areas of Canada and Mexico. 2) Travelling cheaply and discreetly, such as one might do coming home from Vegas after losing all his money.

Guess I have to go Greyhound to Mama's house this year; I can't even afford Southwest Airlines.

posse

Originally, a group of people (especially in the Old West) banded together for purposes of law enforement (and harassing Indians). From <i>posse comitatus</i>, Latin for "power of the county". Posse Comitatus is also the name of various white supremacist organizations that have appeared in the US over the years.

He's got the posse after him because he killed a man.

One who attacks traditional or popular instutitions: an anti-establishment person. Also someone who destroys or defaces religious images or objects.

In the 1960s, a whole generation of iconoclasts transformed American society in ways never imagined by her Founders.
