Kill The Leader 

The act of tearing off the first sheet(s) of toilet paper from the roll (especially in public toilets) to prevent the spread of disease or non-hygienic remnants left over from the last user.

To tear off the leader of toilet paper from the roll in order to prevent disease transmission to the new user's anus and/or genitals.

"Hey Frank, make sure you kill the leader before you wipe. This bathroom's kind of scuzzy, if you know what I mean."

urban heat island effect 

The effect on Long Island whereby the western regions of the island are generally warmer due to the closer proximity of the mainland (where there is more land mass heat being generated) and the population gets denser (which creates more radial heat from electricity, heaters, cars, etc...).

As you move from Montauk to Brentwood you can really notice a difference in the air temperature due to the urban heat island effect.

urbania 

The conjunction of "urban" and "suburbia" to describe the conditions where city and suburbs overlap for a more dense and city-like environment.

Bloomfield, NJ ain't much different than Rockville Center, LI, as they both can be described as urbania.

Synonymous with urbania. The blending of suburb and urban.

Bloomfield, NJ and Rockville Center, LI are both considered to be a burb-stack.
