Kitsch Palace

Kitsch Palace

A home full of stuff that is colourful, nostalgic clutter and rare collectibles.

A creative headquarter, hub or laboratory.
Welcome to my Kitsch Palace where great ideas originate.

We were cooking up some fresh sounds and fierce looks at The Kitsch Palace.

Presenting the underground superstars of The Kitsch Palace

They spilled out of the Kitsch Palace to throw some fierce moves down at the annual Vogue Ball.

A clan of Alter Egos crept out of The Kitsch Palace to rock and shock the art world at The Venice Biennale D'Arte.

To spin hula hoops for fun, for exercise or as a performance.
The last time I went raving, I couldn't believe how many people were hooping!

I love hooping it is way more fun then going to the gym and it totally tones my abs.

Folktronica

A fusion of Folk and Electronica music
Contemporary singer-songwriters fusing narrative lyrics about people and places, with electronic beats and studio productions.
Such as hot European Folktronica acts "Tunng" "Patrick Wolf" and "Les Voyeurs".

Gurbanuru

An Urban Guru.
An inspiring person with good advice and an objective opinion, also with few airs and graces.
Usually in the yogic sense but also adaptable to cultural experts or humanitarians.
Usually slightly older as it takes time and experience to become a Gurbanuru.
On the way home I bumped into a Gurbanuru on the subway...this totally random person who gave me incredible advice on love and relationships.

A Gurbanuru knows what the world we live in is really like and has a good balance of enlightenment and practically; also a good understanding of popular culture.

Deepak Chopra, Eckhart Tolle, Shakti Mhi, David Sye, Terry McBride, Douglas Coupland, William Gibson and many others..

A proffessional hula hooper or a person with extraordinary and original hula hooping skills.
That hooper is awesome she has 25 hoops going at once spinning around her body.

Hooping is becoming a global tribe and performance-art form thanks to festivals like burning man.

Something creative made cheaply, independently or on a very low-budget.
Checkout my latest low-fi music video on youtube.

I've been playing around with a drum machine and some broken old toy instruments to create a very low-fi sound.

Low-fi means more inventiveness and less pressure.

I'm putting together a last minute low-fi multi-media gig for SXSW- you never know who might show up.

dragonator

A woman who impersonates a drag queen.
She was a damn good dragonator- so good I didnt know if she was actually a man pretending to be a woman but really she was a woman pretending to be a man pretending to be a woman- and that in itself was totally camp and hilarious.

She put on a wig, these 6 inch higheels, tons of makeup, false eyelashes and glitter; then started strutting around singing Liza Minelli, Barbara Streisand and Cher songs.

That dragonator did drag better then any of those soho queens- fierce!
