The birthday paradox is the counterintuitive fact that only 23 people are needed for that probability to exceed 50%. The birthday paradox is a veridical paradox, i.e. a paradox that produces counter-intuitive results, but is demonstrated to be true nonetheless.
I always thought it was super rare for two people to share a birthday, but the birthday paradox says it only takes 23 people to make it likely!

Derived from "troll" and "-oid" (a suffix meaning "resembling"), "trolloid" refers to the Quora questions that may at a glance sound like troll questions but deep down akcually not, e.g. "Should a 24-year old young adult child still have screen time limits imposed by his parents if he's still unable to afford moving out from parents' house?" which implies that it's still okay for 24-year old young adult child if he cannot yet do anything to have his screen time limits repealed by his parents.
I thought that question about a 24-year old yong adult child needing screen time limits imposed by his parents was just a trolloid, but it actually sparked a serious discussion about parental boundaries and independence.
